I. OBJECTIVES:

Teaching aims: By the end, students will be able to use “This / That” to say what things are, to ask and answer about things.

III. PROCEDURES:

- Have students play game: “Slap the board”

1. Presentation: (18)

- Ask students to look at the picture part 2/ p.28

- Introduce the new words:

 +Vocabulary:

 1. a door (n)

 2. a window (n)

 3. a board (n)

 4. a waste basket (n)

 5. a school bag (n)

 6. a pencil (n)

 7. a pen (n)

 8. a ruler (n)

 9. an eraser (n)

 - Ask students practice the new words.

 - Set the scene.

- Read the dialogue and ask students to listen.

- Get students to write in the missing words on the board.

- Give structure:

 What is this / that ?

 It is a / an .

3. Practice: (15)

- Ask students to look at the pictures and practice.

- Hold up the first picture and say the model sentences.

- Do the same for the second picture.

- Elicit the sentence by holding up the picture.

- Call some pairs to practice.

- Correct their mistakes.

2. Production: (5)

- Ask students to practice the dialogue with partner.

Ex: What is this?

 Its a ruler.

- Call some students to practice in front of class.

- Correct the mistakes.

5. Homework: (2)

- Ask students to learn by heart vocabulary, how to say what things are

- Ask students to do exercises in the exercise book/ p.13 to 15 and prepare lesson: Unit 3: A1 – 2

- Play game.

- Look at the picture.

- Listen to the teacher.

- Repeat after the teacher.

- Listen to the teacher.

- Listen.

- Pair works.

- Listen and write.

- Look at the pictures and practice.

- Listen to the teacher.

- Repeat it chorally and then individually.
