I. OBJECTIVES:

Teaching aim: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to know how to use “some” and “any” with there is / are and Yes / No questions to talk about food and drink.

II. PREPARATIONS: Book, Cassette tape

1. Warm - Up: (5’)

Have students play “Networks”

 meat

 chicken orange juice

2. Presentation: (13’)

- Use pictures to introduce new lessson.

- Introduce new words:

1. apple (n)

2. orange (n)

3. banana (n)

4. water (unc)

5. rice (n)

6. milk (n)

7. meat (n)

8. fruit (n)

- Practice new words.

- Set the scene: Phuong and Thu are talking about food and drink.

- Introduce structure:

 + What would you like?

 I’d like a/ an/ some .

 + Is there any any + uncountable noun

 Yes, there some ./ No, there isn’t any .

 + Are there any + plural noun

 Yes, there are some / No, there aren’t any .

3. Practice: (15’)

- Give example:

+What would you like?

+ I’d like some chicken.

- Ask Ss to works in pairs:

 + milk + orange

 + rice + orange juice

 + bread + banana

- Call some pairs to practice.

- Play the tape part 2/ p. 109

- Ask Ss to practice in pairs.

- Call some Ss to practice in front.

4. Production: (10’)

- Give example:

+ Is there any water?.

 Yes. There is some water.

+ Are there any bananas?

 No. There aren’t any bananas.

- Ask Ss to practice with partner.

 + water / (+)

 + bananas / (-)

 + rice / (-)

 + oranges / (+)

 + milk / (+)

 + apples / (-)

- Call some pairs to practice.

5. Homework: (2’)

 Ask Ss to learn by heart vocabulary.

Prepare next lesson: Unit 10 - B4, 5/ p. 110

- Play game.
