I. OBJECTIVES:

1. Educational aims: Ss should save energy they use at home or at school.

2. Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will able to understand the dialogue about the ways to save energy.

II. PREPARATIONS: book, extra - board.

III. PROCEDURES:

1. Warm - up (7’)

- Have Ss look at two pictures, answer some questions:

1. Which room is it?

2. What happen to the faucets?

3. Is the TV on? Who is watching TV?

4. Is the cassette on? Who is listening to the cassette?

5. Is the light still burning?

6. What should we do to save energy?

- Look at the pictures and answer the questions

 The bathroom

 They have crack.

 Yes, it is.

 No, it isn’t. No one is listening to the cassette.

Turn off the TV, the cassette.

2. Presentation (10’)

- Set the scene: Mrs.Mi is talking to her neighbor, Mrs.Ha about the water bill this month.

- Have Ss look at the first picture and answer the questions

1. Does this family use a lot of water a month?

2. Why does water come out the pipes?

3. Who will repair it?

4. Do you think a bath or a shower use much water?

- Explain new words:

+ Energy (n)

+ Faucet (n)

+ Water bill(n)

+ Enormous (adj)

+ Crack (n)

+ Plumber(n)

- Have Ss practice new words.

- Have Ss listen to the dialogue

- Listen to the teacher.

- Answer.
