Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will practice writing a passage about the benefits of the Internet: education, communication, entertainment .

1. Warm – up: (5’)

 Have Ss review the benefits of the Internet

 Communication

2. Pre- Writing: (5’)

- Explain new words:

+ source (n)

+ means (n)

- Introduce an outline:

+ Topic sentence

+ Supporting sentence 1, 2, 3

 First, .

 Second, .

 Third,

+ Concluding sentence

- Have Ss tead the text part 5/ 84 again.

3. While- Writing: (20’)

- Have Ss use information above to write a passage about the benefits of the Internet

- Help Ss to write a passage if necessary.

- Call some Ss to read the answer.

 Suggested idea:

 The Internet has increasingly developed and become part of our everyday life. Nobody can deny the benefits of the Internet in our life

 First, the Internet is as a source of information. The Internet is a very fast and convenient way for people to get information. We can read news and articles or look weather forecast on the Internet.

 Second, the Internet is as a source of entertainment. We can listen to music, watch movies, play games.

 Third, the Internet is as a means of education. We can learn English, we can attend on-line schools, on-line-lessons, self-study.

 The Internet is a wonderful invention of modern life. It makes our world a small village

- Correct the mistakes.

- Listen and write.

- Listen.

- Read the text.

- Work individually to write a passage

- Ask teacher if necessary.

- Read the answer.

- Listen.
