Today we’ll how to write a complete a report. - write down on the board P117 Unit 14: Writing A Report (cont) - small board 2. Pre- writing (6’) Teaching new words ( again) - use pictures and explanations to present some new words - Read the words one by one and ask Sts to repeat. Presenting the Guidelines again: A report should include the following things: - where and when you took the trip - details of the activities you did and the places you visited - your impression or feelings about what you saw - your impressions or feelings about the trip in general. - float (n); cai phao (v): troi bong benh - temple (n) den tho, thanh duong - highly (adv) : cao - appreciated (adj): cam kich, danh gia cao - affectionately (adv) : chan thanh - look forward to : - invite (v) : moi - invitation (n) : loi moi Chalk and board 3. while-writing (20’) Activity 1:stories from pictures - put SS into small groups of 4 or 5 - give each group a set of pictures ( with cues if necessary) - ask SS to put the pictures in a logical order. - Tell SS to write a report about their holiday as described in the pictures - go around to monitor and give help if necessary - call on SS from each group to show the order of their pictures and read their report to the class. - invite SS to give feedback and comments. Activity 2: writing about yourself (task b, p. 196) - ask SS to write a report on their holiday trip or vacation. - tell SS to refer to the guidelines and the previous tasks as samples. - go around to monitor and give help with vocabulary - when SS have finished, collect their writings for correction later. . Post-writing (10’) Peer correction - Ask Sts to work in group of 5, deliver each group 5 pieces of writings and tell them to read and correct their friends’ narratives. - Tell each group to choose the best piece of writing, and the most special story. - Go around to control and give help if necessary. - Call a St. from each group to read their group’s best writing, and ask Sts to give comments.
