+ Activity 1:

_ Have Ss look at the picture and answer some eliciting questions

1. What are they wearing?

2. Do you like wearing jeans?

3. Do you know when jeans appeared for the first time?Where?

4. What was jean cloth made from?

+ Activity 2:

_ Introduce some new words

1. material (n)

2. embroider (v)

3. economic (adj)

 economy(n)

4. wear out (v)

5. world wide (adv)

_ Ask Ss practice the new words

_ Answer the questions

_ Whole class

_ Take note

_ Listen

_ Practice the newwords

3. While - reading (16’)

+ Activity 1:

_ Have Ss read the text and answer the questions above

2. Jean cloth was made from cotton

3. It appeared in the 18th century in Italy

+ Activity 2:

_ Have Ss read the text again and complete the missing dates and words

_ Get feedback

_ Collect 5 papers to get marks
