LESSON 2: SPEAK AND LISTEN
I. OBJECTIVES:
Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to describe people’s appearance, complete the dialogue, develop speaking and listening skills.

1. Warm – Up: (5’)
* Brainstorming: Ask students to think of the adjectives used to describe body build, hairstyle and hair color.

2. Pre – Speaking: (8’)
- Show a picture of Mary and ask students to describe her body build, her hairstyle and hair color.
 She is short and thin
 She has blond hair
- Explain the structures: S + are / is + body-build adj. 
 S + have / has + adj + hair.
* Have students pay attention to the adjective “bald”
 He is bald. (Not: He has bald hair)
3. While – Speaking: (15’)
- Ask students to practice the dialogue.
- Call a student to describe one person the others have to guess who he/she is.
- Ask students to describe a famous person or one of their classmates and the rest of the classes have to guess who he / she is.
- Ask students to describe their partners.
 Model: “Trang is small. She is young. She is very pretty. She has long black hair.”
- Ask students to describe themselves.
Ex: I’m young. I’m tall and slim and have short hair. 
4. Post – Speaking: (15’)
- Ask students to read the expressions in the box and make sure they know their meanings.

- Play the tape for students twice.
- Call some students to read the answers.
