1. Present Simple:

Thì hiện tại đơn diễn tả hành động xảy ra ở hiện tại, một thói quen hay sở thích.
 to be: am/ is/ are
 to have: has/ have
Ex: She often goes to school in the morning.
2. Present Progressive:
 S + is/ am/ are + Ving.. .
Ex: He is sleeping in his room./ is forgetting
3. Present Perfect:
 S + has/ have + Ved/ V3.. .
Thì hiện tại hoàn thành diễn tả hành động xảy ra trong quá khứ và vẫn còn tiếp tục đến hiện tại, hành động vẫn mới hoàn thành.
Ex: She has just finished her work.
4. Past Simple Tense:

Diễn tả hành động xảy ra và chấm dứt trong quá khứ.
Ex: He visited me yesterday.
5. Past Perfect:
 S + was/ were + Ving.
Diễn tả hành động đang diễn ra tại một thời điểm xác định trong quá khứ . Hành động đang xảy ra kèm một hành động khác . Hai hành động diễn ra đồng thời.
 Ex: He was watching TV at 8.00 pm.
6. Simple Future:
 S + will + Vinf.. .
Diễn tả hành động sẽ xảy ra ở tương lai

 It was a beautiful day. The Sun was shining , the sky was blue and the weather was perfect. Lan was outside playing with Skippy, her dog. All of a sudden, the dog began acting strangly. Mrs. Quyen told Lan that she heard on the radio that there was a typhoon coming. Mrs. Quyen gathered her family and told them to find shelter in the house.
All of a sudden, the sky became very dark, the storm came with strong winds and heavy rain. Mrs. Quyen and her family were scared, but soon the storm finished and every one was glad. What clever dog Skippy is. She saved Lan’s family
